Spreading warmth
This project is part of a series of initial drives when orphan.love was still at its initial, pilot stage.
In the winter of 2019, shivering in cold, and carrying an arm-load of 150 blankets, a small team of six volunteers set out from Dhaka city on a local bus at Abdullahpur, with a heart filled with purpose. After reaching the Narsingdhi city, they divided into small groups and got into local vans to begin the second phase of their journey. This journey will take them to their destination, which is a very small village that is 1.5 km car ride away from the main Narsingdhi city.
Once they reached the destination, after completing due procedure at the meeting point with local authority figures, they distributed the blankets to all the 150 orphans. This was the only picture taken, after their due consent.
“What made my day is when I saw that light shining in their eyes. They were not only grateful, they were happy. I saw their quarters housing thread-bare blankets. I hope from now on, they can sleep peacefully,” expressed a volunteer in shiny eyes, who chose to remain anonymous.
orphan.love team is deeply grateful to the local parties for being so hospitable in hosting us with a hearty meal.
